16 Weeks

I am 16 weeks even today. I can't believe how fast time is flying now. I have 24 more weeks until my due date and I have 5 days left until we find out what we are having. =)

I failed my 1 hour glucose test last week, so I am scheduled for my 3 hour glucose test on Wednesday. I am hoping that I pass, but because I failed so high with my 1 hour (171 when it should've been 135,) I fear that I am going to fail the 3 hour test.

I had an urgent OB appointment on Thursday because I just wasn't feeling right. I was passing out, feeling foggy headed and everything, so the OB wanted me in immediately. My blood pressure was 90/60, which is low since I run at 110/80, I lost 5 pounds in 13 days, so I am back UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight. She was a bit concerned because she didn't know what was happening. She asked for an EKG and a whole bunch of labs. Well, when I left, the lab was closed, so her Corpsman did my labs for me and they sent them to UCC to be run urgently. She called me at 7pm to let my know that my blood work came back great but my urine test showed severe dehydration. I had to drink tons of water and you know what, all the bad things that were happening, stopped! I'm feeling great now.

Also, this little one inside me is a character. They were using a doppler to listen to the heartbeat and the baby didn't like it, so s/he kept kicking it. It took forever to get a heart rate, but the heart rate is in the 150's!=)

Baby Update

I went in yesterday at 13 weeks 4 days for my check up. Baby gave us quite a scare. We could not find a heart beat with the doppler. I told the OB that the baby flutters in the lower left hand corner of my belly. She told me that I was too early to feel the baby move, so she pulled out the ultrasound machine. She began looking for the baby, but to no avail. I told her to look lower. She finally did, and what do you know, the baby was in the lower left hand corner of my belly just sleepin'. Baby's heart rate is at 153, which is great. Baby bean hasn't grown too much from 6 weeks ago, which I am glad about. I am fairly certain that this baby has Blake's bone structure, since s/he isn't nearly as big as Aiden was at 10 weeks gestation. =) We are hoping that it's a baby girl since it's so small.

I have to go in for an early GD test because the doctor thinks I have gestational diabetes. I will be testing next week for that. I have a 3D ultrasound scheduled in 3 weeks, 18 week ultrasound in 5 weeks and a free 3D ultrasound in 10 weeks. =) I'm going to get lots of pictures of this baby and I am totally excited!

Almost done with the First Trimester

Tomorrow will be a mile marker for this pregnancy. I will be entering into my second trimester and I couldn't be more happier. This pregnancy has been sooooo difficult. I have lost weight through this entire pregnancy and I have had horrible morning sickness. The doctor had me on 2 medications that I was allergic to, so they had to switch the medications. They now have me on Reaglan, which works out well for me. I take it 3 times a day and I have no sickness at all.

Aiden has been calling the baby his "sister," and I have a feeling it's a girl, but I wouldn't be surprised if I am wrong. We are wanting a girl so bad and I am hoping that God grants me the little girl that we want so dearly. We have her name picked out, but we dont' have a name picked out for a boy. If it is a girl, she will be named Katelynn Elise. If it's a boy, right now, it's Carter Steven, but I don't know how well I like that name. It may change before the birth.
